Volunteer Job Description

Parkville Blues, Jazz and Fine Arts River Jam

Volunteer Job Description

June, 2015

Thank you for donating your time to the festival. We could not do this event without your help!

Upon your arrival please check in at the information booth where you will be given a volunteer badge, vest and job description.

We will be collecting canned goods at the front and back gates for the Parkville Food Pantry. Please call the information tent when bucket is full.

The primary responsibility for volunteers is to check ALL COOLERS at both front and back gates to make sure no one is bringing in any alcoholic beverages. This is a requirement for our liquor license. If guests do have alcoholic beverages, simply ask them to return it to their car. You will also pass out flyers as guests walk in and direct them to the artists tent, food vendors and restrooms as needed.

You will also need to make sure that no cars enter the park. “Groupies” try to sneak in by saying they are part of the band. Bands will have a special ID, and no one gets in without this ID.

ALSO, MAKE SURE NO ONE LEAVES THE EVENT AT ANY TIME WITH AN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE, ESPECIALLY AT THE END OF THE EVENING WHEN THERE IS A MASS EXIT. TRASH CANS WILL BE PROVIDED AT ALL EXITS.

Direct people to handicap parking if needed. Please call the information booth to request transport by golf cart for anyone using a walker or needing assistance into the park.

Keep your eye out for anything unusual, rowdy or unruly guests and report to the information booth if needed. Police are hired to deal with these people.

Be sure to turn in your badge, vest and ID at the end of your shift.

Thank you for your help!
